Scheduling Summer
School is out and that means fun filled days are just around the corner. Summer means creating and balancing a whole new schedule. I am trying my best to get our summer schedule under control. I now will rearrange my work hours to fit swimming lessons, music in the park, sprayscape, zoo adventures, and much more.
Owning a home based business allows me the flexibility to enjoy the summer days with my young children. My language education company teaches Spanish to children and parents. While I am not teaching classes, overseeing curriculum development, or promoting our products, I am running here and there and everywhere! Multitasking has become my middle name. As with most moms I meet, we are masters at this skill. My laptop and wireless connection have been a saving grace for me. I can fit some productive work time in at our local coffee house, thanks to wi fi and a fabulous playscape. I am off to answer an email, send a fax, and play CandyLand!

Dear Multitasking Madre
It would be nice if the US was more progressive with flexible working hours not only for parents but for everyone (things happen). I am a single parent of three and I dread summers because it leaves me frantically thinking how I can keep my commitment to my job as well as to my family for family fun in the summertime. Right now I'm hoping to find something as flexible as your job. Currently, I'm thinking of working as a temp, save like heck, and take off the summer months.
