Benzing the Rules

Haven’t read, The Secret? I’ll share one with you. There is nothing original about it. Read any translation of the Bible’s New Testament and you’ll find, verses about believing and receiving, “that what ever you ask for believing you will receive” and “all things are possible to those who believe.” The secret is not original or new.

Contributors to The Secret, correctly acknowledge that the secret was found in “literature, religions and philosophies throughout the centuries.” In which, the concept is oft regarded to as the law of believing. The Secret does a good job of getting the point across of the need to believe absolutely, so vividly that you already think you’ve received it. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe phrased it as, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.” In other words, stated by Nike, “Just do it!”

I have a book that belonged to my father, The Magic of Believing by Claude M. Bristol, copyrighted in 1948. Mr. Bristol among many others including Norman Vincent Peale have long propounded the laws and magic of believing. I ponder how many of us have truly experienced this level of surety. Sureties that you can see it, hear it, taste it or touch it. I suppose when that starts to happen one might think you’ve lost your mind. I have a quote from Zig Ziglar on my computer monitor, “I don’t care how much power, brilliance or energy you have. If you don’t harness it and focus it on a specific target, and hold it there, you’re never going to accomplish as much as your ability warrants.”

Therefore, focus must be the missing key. Ready, Aim, Target! I recently dragged my husband and son to the local Mercedes Benz dealer. I picked out my car. I brought home a picture. I even received a Mercedes Benz mug that I use for my morning coffee while visualizing me driving my new car. I’m calling it, “Benzing the Rules!” I’ll let you know when the car comes! I’m believing that will be soon after the new job.
