Call Me Ms. Miyagi

When people ask me, what is this reiki healing thing that you do about, it sends shivers down my spine. “Oh my God”, how do I answer this without sounding like a total wack job? I try to explain that it’s energy healing, kind of like Mr. Miyagi!

Everyone loves and understands Mr. Miyagi, so it softens the blow of what I’m actually trying to explain. I’m explaining that science has finally caught up with energy healing and the transference of energy from one person to another. They can actually measure the frequencies of the energy waves being transferred. Frequencies are like lasers that heal the tissue, bone and nervous system. This is the simple explanation of how reiki works.

As a healer, I come across different types of people with many different problems. One thing that surprises me, is how out of touch people are with themselves. It’s very sad to see people go years without ever really spending 5 minutes thinking about what they want out of life. My goal is to help people reconnect with their inner self. I’ll usually start by asking people what they do for a living, and what they would rather do, if not their current vocation. I try to start the process of helping that person realize their dream and how they can accomplish their hearts desire. When we reconnect with our dreams, we reconnect with our true self. Healing is not only about fixing a broken bone and much as it is about healing a broken spirit.
