If I was perfect
People often fail to meet expectations. Athletes and entertainers are placed on pedestals, however are prone to make the same mistakes that all human beings are equally susceptible too. Perfection is a high standard of excellence that can eventually become fairly unreasonable to reach. However, I still have a dream to be perfect and there are many reasons why.
If I was perfect I would never hurt the ones that I love. If I was perfect I would trust my instincts and recognize warning signals that tell me something isn’t right. If I was perfect I would always actually say what I mean and would not be misunderstood. If I was perfect I would look before I leap into life in the fast lane. If I was perfect I could control and fix everything. If I was perfect I would conquer every obstacle I face. If I was perfect I would never loose control of my emotions or sleep with anger.
Breaking news this is “Outside the Box” reality TV, I am not perfect and neither are you. The pursuit of absolute perfection is a false ideal that ultimately leads to huge disappointments.
I am finally allowing myself to relax as I breathe in and out to accept that I will make mistakes. Overall, trying to be perfect is a huge distraction from the reality of how imperfect I really am.
