Who's your Gold Medal Coach?

So I'm sitting here watching the US women's gymnastic team. Besides the fact that I really can't believe it's been twelve years since we watched Kerri Strug and the team earn a gold medal in Atlanta, there she was on the screen: Marta Karolyi, a steadfast face and name in the sport. As each young woman individually collected their thoughts and approached the balance beam and uneven bars, I was fascinated by the role of their coach. Check that, coaches. There was a man on the floor as well (it wasn't Bela; it was someone else but I don't follow the sport enough to know the name. Ah, but I digress.)

In addition to the physical sport there's always the mental toughness and discipline factor but when it comes to going for the gold, who's in your corner? Who's there to support you when you fall and help you right back up on that uneven bar? Who's there to calm your nerves and well, to tell you that you can do it?! Better yet, what happens when there are setbacks? Injuries, if you will. Climbing the corporate ladder and hooray for you - you skipped a whole rung - but have you ever felt if you don't hold on real tight you may slip down two notches?

I have about five mentors right now and feel like you can never have too many. I have someone I turn to for career advice, financial guidance, the never-ending journey better known as real estate hunting in Manhattan...and feel like when it comes to picking your sport it's important to have people to rely on who will not only help you strive for the best, but who will be there when you fall as well.

So the question of the day is this: who's YOUR gold medal coach? A friend, a boss, a co-worker, a personal trainer...

Go USA!

A silver or bronze metal mentor would be nice once in a great while.
I guess I am discouraged right now. I really don't know where to take my company, (extremely small) and over the past few weeks I have even thought about closing the business. What hold me back is that I am helping so many kids and their families. I don't know how many more year I can not draw a salary and keep doing all the work myself. I would like to see this go somewhere but I just don't have much support or any mentors. I am a mentor to others but there are none for me.

Thanks for letting me vent a bit.

I signed up for your webiner and missed the webinar today is there any way I can reveiw the webinar on video or something. I also paid the $19.95 for today. I was helping a client that I clean their home once every other week. The husband is semi blind and the wife reads the paper for the day. They needed me and I couldn't leave. Thank you in Victorville, CA
