Swiffer Therapy
Maybe I’m watching too much TV, but I have yet another inspiration from the boob tube. The show Clean House. I love these home cleaning and organizing shows. There is no way you can watch these shows without using some of their tips. If you look at the filthy and out of control homes, it’s easy to see how they are a reflection of the homeowner’s emotional issues. I am not a neat freak, but I can’t understand how a room gets so cluttered that you can’t even enter the room. Although cleaning can be annoying, time consuming and laborious, it’s obviously a chore that can’t go undone for long.
My ex-boyfriend used to say that the backseat of my messy car was a reflection of my life. He was right. My car was a mess and so was our relationship. So I got rid of him and I’m still working on my car. With each new episode of a home cleaning show, I get out that Swiffer and clean up the hidden corners of my home and my life. I call it “Swiffer therapy.” I hope the Swiffer people don’t mind me using this phrase. Maybe I’ll get royalties for their next marketing campaign. Remember, you heard it here first! This therapy is awesome. Within minutes, I’m once again in control of my sparkling life. Accomplishing a boring task while reigning victorious over cat hair, dust, and fear and procrastination. My goal is to always keep my home in visitor ready status. Somehow I feel that with one less mess in my life, my professional life will always be kept in opportunity ready status.
