How I Fared With My 2008 Goals.
On a day-to-day basis, the last year seemed so difficult. But looking back at the big picture, it wasn’t too bad at all. Looking at life from the rear view mirror always seems easier. My 2009 resolution is to continue to work on my goals from last year and take them to the next level. Maybe a little less chocolate and a little more love.
Here is how I did with my 2008 goals:
1. Finish self-editing my book so I can have someone do the final edit for publishing:
I’m pretty close to this goal. I’m almost done with my book proposal and when that is finished the possibilities are endless.
2. Perform belly-dancing in public.
I was scheduled to do this but with schedule changes, I wasn’t able to perform. I am starting belly-dancing classes again at the end of January, so who knows where I might be shimmying next.
3. Massage the New York Police Department's horses. The NYPD no longer has volunteers, but I was given a nice honor from the New Jersey Sheriff’s Department for my horse massage work.
4. Book five clients a day for services. Most days I do have 5 clients or at least one or two big ticket clients. I am quickly becoming the eyelash extension queen!
5.Get back into all my clothes that fit me great last year!OK, this is going onto the 2009 list!
6. Get a date after a two-year hiatus. Not only did I get a date, I have a serious boyfriend. Imagine that! He loves me even though I still don’t fit into last year's clothes!
7. If my hair can grow that fast, I want it down to my shoulders. No more haircuts!
My hair is long, blonde and past my shoulders. Natural curls, beautiful highlights and trim the ends when I have time.
8. Get a positive review and mention in a magazine for my business.
I actually won a national award as one of the top spas during Spa Week. The all-natural product line I helped my sister develop was used in another Broadway show and the actress had remarkable results. I also did makeup for a high-end magazine which gave a mention of my website. The No. 1 eyelash extension company also called and asked me to write an article about their new products. The last one is what I’m really excited about, since one of my goals is to become the Ralph Nader of the cosmetic world.
