Finding Your Passion: Listen to Your Heart and Head
Last year at this time I was in the middle of making an important decision about my career and my life: I had to decide whether or not to resign from a top-level job at an insurance company here in Sydney, Australia to write on a full-time basis.
As fabulous as my job looked on the outside, it didn't feel good on the inside. I had reached a point in my career where I’d taken enough. I had the flashy title and the salary that I set out to achieve five years earlier, but it was time for me to give back.
I decided to resign and commit myself to my vision: to inspire and empower others to succeed at whatever they want to do, and ultimately become better citizens.
I created a blog http://silvanaavinami.com/ and my first book on career ownership will be published this year. It has brought meaning to my life.
So far, the No. 1 lesson I have learned is to listen to both my heart and my head and to be honest with what they both tell me. That’s how I discovered my life’s passion.
Do you know what brings meaning to your life? Is that what you’re spending your life’s time doing?
