Competition is NOT the New Black
My apologies to Isaac Mizrahi, but competition is not the new black-- the slogan for Bravo's The Fashion Show, which he'll co-host with Kelly Rowland starting Thursday night. Competition is based out of fear. How about saying, “Success is the new black?”
As business owners, employees, parents and students, we are all trying to be the best we can be. You won’t get to the top worrying about what everyone else is doing.
If you’re constantly looking around at others, and comparing yourself to them, when are you focusing on building up your own skills? Competition comes out of a fear that there is not enough to go around. We all know there are plenty of clients, jobs and money to go around.
Successful people focus on the goal, the end result and most of all themselves. Of course competition exists and it’s actually a good thing when put into perspective.
The trick is not letting the fear of loss make you insecure, negative or lose your focus. If you’re giving your best, people will notice and that is what will make you stand out from the rest.
Never lose focus of what you’re good at, and you’ll always be successful.
