More than 1 million who run their households -- the majority of them single moms -- were unemployed in March, USA TODAY reports. This has strained budgets "that were, in many cases, already tight and affecting children across the country. Got a budget-saving tip? Please share it with us.

When buyung grocery, buy your meat in bulk and seperate it into mini meals via ziplock bags. Its cheaper to buy meats in large packages, instead of individual packages.
