Once upon a time, the telephone interview was a preliminary step in the job hunting process: a chance for recruiters to size up a candidate before offering a more probing, in-person interview. No more. These days, companies have raised the bar and are using the telephone to conduct lengthy, in-depth interviews, The Wall Street Journal reports.
