Girlphyte
My Favorites...
Time of day: Coffee and the newspaper in the morning. I’m learning to enjoy small pleasures.
Song: Anything by Bob Dylan.
Movie: When Harry Met Sally
Book: Pride and Prejudice
Quote: “I’d rather be small and shine, than big and cast a shadow.”
The thing I value about my job is…
I love connecting with other women.
If I could change one thing about my career…
I would have spent less time having lunch in front of my computer and more time meeting new people and reconnecting with those I know.
The one thing I have to do everyday is…
I remind myself of not what I’ve failed to do, but what I managed to do in the day, what I enjoyed and how lucky I am to have a happy, healthy family and life.
More About Me
Sue Van Der Hout left a small Ontario town for Toronto in 1971. For almost 25 years, she practiced tax litigation. She launched Girlphyte in 2006 as a medium for defining success from the female perspective and as a way for connecting other women with their dreams and each other. She is currently working with a group of talented professionals to establish multifamily offices in Canada, but Girlphyte remains a priority. Sue is incredibly energetic and passionate about most everything - family, friends, career and fun. She is a hopeless over-achiever, a skilled speaker and writer and a genuine "connector". She believes in serendipity, sliding doors, fate, choice, risk, spirit and above all the pursuit of personal authenticity.
