Multitasking Madre
My Favorites…
Book: Like Water for Chocolate
Movie: Mr. Holland’s Opus
Song : “Til There Was You” by the Beatles.
Snack: String cheese and peanuts.
Time of day: 5:45-6:30am. It is the most peaceful time of my day. 50% of the time, my toddler is already awake, but the other 50% of the time is like a quiet, peaceful solitude. I have my coffee and plan my day.
Guilty Pleasure: Staying up too late drinking wine and watching Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, or Lost.
When I was younger I wanted to be…
I wanted to be a teacher.
The thing I value most about my job is…
I value the ability to be actively involved in all aspects of my children’s lives.
The biggest fear I have conquered…
I was afraid to step out of my comfort zone and enter the business world.
More About Me
Jennifer Manriquez, mom and educator, is the owner of The Bilingual Fun Company LLC. Her company offers both language classes, and sells educational products supporting early language instruction. As a former Spanish teacher with a bilingual husband, the choice to raise her children in a bilingual household was natural. The word quickly spread that her toddler was bilingual and Jennifer received requests to host “Spanish playgroups”. She thought about ways that she could incorporate her love for languages, and passion for teaching. The Bilingual Fun Company was born! Armed with a Master’s degree in bilingual education, classroom teaching experience, and her own personal experience with her own two young children, Jennifer created a popular and unique language program. Bilingual Fun classes are fun, upbeat, and educational classes for children ages 18 months through age 10. She and her husband have also produced an award winning DVD series, called Spanish for Children.
