Planet Mom
My Favorites…
Book: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory
Movie: Fargo and Daytrippers
Snack: pretzels
Guilty Pleasure:a glass of Shiraz every night.
Quote:
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind...
-William Wordsworth" Ode on Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early
Childhood" (Perfect for an aging mom!)
When I was younger I wanted to be…
I wanted to be a Private Detective. I think it was all those hours I spent playing "Clue" that steered me in that direction.
The thing I value most about my job is…
I value the opportunity to be creative. Were it not for Planet Mom, I'd be putting way too much time into my kids' dioramas.
The one thing I have to do everyday is..
I have to exercise. It helps me focus and feel good about myself, and allows me to rationalize the ice cream I'll be eating later.
More About Me
In my previous life, I worked as a television news producer. I lived in New York City, and reflecting back on that life, I think about myself as one of the characters from “Sex and the City” –minus the gratuitous sex and Manolo Blahniks. That, of course, was not the reality, but I did have fun. But, like many women, I felt the urge to get married and have children, and I now have three rambunctious boys in my life (one being my husband.) After staying home for many years, I decided to start my own business with an old college friend. Enter PlanetMomTShirts.com where we sell products with an irreverent spin on motherhood. Planet Mom has given me a creative outlet I craved, plus a nice added income. As a mom, I often feel as though I’m taking care of everyone else, but Planet Mom is something I do just for me.
