The Wellness Woman
When I was younger, I wanted to be...
a million things! When I was very young - Shera, Princess of Power, and when I got a little older, an athletic director for a university.
The thing I value most about my job is...
my day-to-day interactions with clients, students, and families. I value that my work is mutually empowering. If I’m doing my job, my clients benefit, and so do I, in what I learn from them.
The thing that bothers me most about my job is...
there are days when I work with small children and see the weight of their world on their shoulders.
The one thing I have to do everyday is...
be outside and go on a walk. (That’s two-I cheated!)
The biggest fear I have conquered is...
following my gut when it was the harder thing to do.
Book: Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger and A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson
Song or Album: Anything by Coldplay or the Steve Miller Band
Snack: Peanut butter…on just about anything.
Time of day and why...
Morning. I’m calm, peaceful, and loaded with energy…another whole day full of potential is ahead.
Guilty pleasure: Laying out by a body of water with a good magazine and a Dr. Brown’s Diet Black Cherry Cola.
Quote: Denis Waitley said, “Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.” It is a goal for me!
More about me: Taylor hasan M.Ed., Ed.S. in Mental Health with undergraduate degrees in Business and Nutrition. She is a consultant specializing in mental and emotional health, sound nutrition and wellness, ultimately encouraging clients to develop a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
Before moving to New York City, Taylor was on faculty at George Mason University, where she taught a course in career decision-making and development. She also served as a career counselor there. She served as a consultant at The Frost School, an academic and counseling center, conducting group and family therapy. She has taught courses at the University of Florida in athletics and psychology, and also worked with university athletes on nutritional and psychological well-being. She played volleyball at the University of Florida (in her hometown), and has been modeling for the last two years.
Taylor is excited to use her background in business, education, wellness, and athletics to serve the women of New York and beyond!
